The City of Long Beach is receiving federal grant funding through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Emergency Solutions Grant Rapid Unsheltered Survivor Housing award in the amount of $1,000,000.

On Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 4 p.m., The Long Beach Community Investment Company will conduct a public hearing in the City Council Chambers located at Long Beach City Hall (411 W. Ocean Blvd.).

The 15-day public comment period for reviewing the City of Long Beach 2023-2024 Draft Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) on activities and programs.

The City has broken ground on a new affordable housing project for seniors in the Alamitos Beach area adjacent Downtown’s East Village.

On Monday, October 7, 2024, at 4 p.m., The Long Beach Community Investment Company will conduct a public hearing in the 2^nd Floor Large Conference Room at Long Beach City Hall (411 W. Ocean Blvd.).

The Community Development Department invites the public to help create a new plan for the Downtown Shoreline area by participating in an online survey.

The Department will host three Housing Policy Forums to gather input and inform the community about numerous housing policy & zoning initiatives.

Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) represent a unique opportunity and can be designed to be more affordable than large-scale multifamily developments. The City of Long Beach promotes affordable housing and incentivizes ADU construction by offering pre-approved designs, Over-The-Counter plan review and a variety of options including Junior ADUs and SB9 Lot Splits.

The Community Development Department is proud to present the 2023 Annual Report, an interactive digital publication that showcases significant developments throughout Long Beach, highlights our efforts on citywide initiatives and features the accomplishments of staff and the various commissions in which we partner.

This Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Annual Action Plan serves as the official application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Beginning May 3, 2024, the draft Action Plan will be available for 30-day public review and comment.
