COMMISSION ON WOMEN & GIRLS
Mayor Richardson is proud that, later this year, he will have the honor of appointing the inaugural Commissioners for Long Beach's Commission on Women & Girls. The Mayor has been supportive throughout the span of this community effort that was brought forth by passionate and committed residents who want to ensure that issues important to Women & Girls are prioritized in our city.
Once again, the Mayor is calling for the best and brightest from all across Long Beach to serve! Applications for this 11-person Commission are now open, aligning with the 100th Anniversary of the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment. The application is open to all women and girls who live in Long Beach, including youth and adults who are female-identified including cis, transgender, gender-expansive, non-binary, con-confirming and genderqueer.
It is expected that interest in serving on the Commission will be high and we anticipate many more applications than the available positions. Residents are encouraged to submit their applications by the end of August, as the Mayor would like to make his first appointments this Fall.
Thank you for your interest in serving Long Beach!
