Donate to the Long Beach Public Library Foundation
Your generosity enables literacy and education for all members of the community.
The Long Beach Public Library Foundation raises funds to enhance all of Long Beach’s Public Libraries, and to encourage literacy and education.
The Foundation supports Library programs including the Family Learning Centers and the Studios. With a donation of any size, you can support these award-winning programs, purchase new books and materials, leave the Library in your estate, or make a gift in honor of a loved one. All donations are tax-deductible.
Join the Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Long Beach Public Library is a non-profit, membership group of library advocates.
Their efforts provide materials, support summer reading programs, provide cultural and literary events for the community, and fund training for library staff.
Support us by shopping at the Friends of the Library Bookstore.
Love Your Library!
Memorial Books
Anyone can create a lasting memorial to a family member or friend by purchasing library books or other library materials. When you send your donation, include the name of the person memorialized, along with contact information for the family. We will inform them that you have made a donation and then consult with them about appropriate materials to purchase and their choice of libraries to house them.
Memorial Books are given special book plates bearing the name of the person memorialized. A list of memorial books and materials is reported in each Friends of the Long Beach Public Library newsletter, sent to all members of the Friends.
Please send donations to the Friends of the Long Beach Public Library at the address listed below.
Honor Books
Anyone can give a book to the Library as a way of honoring someone, to mark a special occasion, or in appreciation of a particular kindness. When you send your donation, include the name and contact information for the person honored. We will inform the honoree of your donation to the Library's collection.
Honor Books may also be purchased on behalf of each "Super Friend," someone who contributes $100 or more in his/her membership.
Honor Books are selected by librarians from their "Wish Lists," given special book plates with the name of the person honored, and then placed in those libraries where they are most needed. A list of Honor Books is reported in each issue of the Friends of the Long Beach Public Library newsletter.
