Main Health Critical Facility Improvements
Additional project updates and information will be published on an on-going basis.
Background
The City of Long Beach’s Main Health Facilities Center, located at 2525 Grand Avenue, houses critical services, such as the Vital Records Program and the Immunization and Travel Clinic. The building’s approximately 30,000 square foot roof and HVAC systems are aging and reaching the end of their usable lives.
To address leaks in multiple areas, the Main Health Critical Facility Improvements will install a new, heat-reflective roofing system to improve the facility’s thermal efficiency and insulation. The existing HVAC systems will be replaced with updated, energy efficient elements, including a refurbished mechanical penthouse and new skylights to replace existing ones.
This project is part of the Elevate ’28 Infrastructure Investment Plan, a historic initiative dedicated to enhancing Long Beach parks, community facilities, mobility access, and streets. Learn more at lbelevate28.com.
