Latest Updates - August 2024
The project will require regulatory review and approvals including review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and Coastal Act. Coastal permit applications are anticipated to be submitted to the regulatory agencies by Winter 2025.

Project Information
The Long Beach Pride Lifeguard Tower Project will enhance the space around the lifeguard tower to promote inclusivity and accessibility for the Long Beach LGBTQ+ community. Proposed improvements include repainting the tower to reflect the colors of the Progressive Pride Flag, boardwalk-style decking, mobility mats to improve accessibility to the tower, and displaying rotating art installations. This project is in the Tidelands Zone and is subject to coastal permitting by the California Coastal Commission.
