PUBLIC RECORDS
The California Public Records Act requires public agencies to provide access to public records held by the city of Long Beach CUPA. Requests can be made for records such as inspections, investigations, reports, data, etc. Various privacy rules apply to certain information under California Public Records Act. Records regarding ongoing litigation will not be released.
Information regarding hazardous materials and waste, state and federal cleanups, Toxic materials, and impacted ground and surface waters Can be searched CalEPA Regulated Site Portal. The portal also provides data and an interactive map regarding regulated facilities located throughout the state of California.
RECORD REVIEW REQUEST
The City of Long Beach responds to requests for public records pursuant to the California Public Records Act. Requests for public records should be submitted at www.LongBeach.gov/PRA.
RECORD REVIEW PROCEDURES
- Upon receipt of a file review request, staff will compare the information submitted with the existing database.
- If the file requested is available, staff will make a review appointment by telephone within 10 days. Appointments are scheduled from Monday through Thursday between 9 AM and 11 AM or 1 PM until 4 PM. This is only if an in-office file review is requested or required.
- The requesting party needs to make arrangements to have copying service make an appointment to copy files. Our office no longer makes copies.
- If the file requested is not available in the database, the requesting party will be notified in writing.
