City Clerk Calls for Argument Writers for Four November 2022 Ballot Measures

Long Beach, CA – The City of Long Beach is seeking argument writers for four City Charter amendments to be placed on the Nov. 8, 2022, ballot. Those interested in writing arguments for or against the approved measures may submit an interest form to the Office of the City Clerk through 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022. A separate interest form must be submitted for each ballot measure. Interest forms may be submitted via email to cityclerk@longbeach.gov or in person at City Hall, 411 W. Ocean Blvd., Lobby Level, Window 12.
Long Beach City Council to Consider Four Ballot Measures for Placement on the November 2022 Election Ballot

Long Beach, CA – On August 9, 2022, the Long Beach City Council will consider placing four potential City Charter amendments on the November 8, 2022, ballot for consideration by Long Beach voters. The four proposed Charter amendments relate to the consolidation of the City’s existing water, sewer and gas utilities into a single publicly-owned utility; establishment of a Police Oversight Commission; realignment of City election dates with the State; and realignment of Long Beach Board of Education election dates with the State. After the City Charter amendments are selected for ballot placement August 9, the City will call for argument writers interested in writing arguments both for or against the approved measures.
