BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Deepika S. Thompson is a Deputy City Attorney whose practice focuses on servicing the legal needs of the Long Beach Harbor Department and its Board of Harbor Commissioners. Ms. Thompson primarily practices in the areas of municipal law, public contracts, ethics, construction law, public finance, real estate, and related transactional matters.
Prior to joining the Long Beach City Attorney's Office, Ms. Thompson was in private practice representing school districts and municipalities on a variety of business, governance, construction, facilities, finance, and real estate matters.

Ms. Thompson is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice in California, before the Central, Eastern, Northern, and Southern United States District Courts in California, and before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
EDUCATION
Ms. Thompson received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Los Angeles. Ms. Thompson earned her J.D. from Loyola Law School, where she was an Articles Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review.
