Independent Redistricting Commission

Your Community, Your Voice.

Be a representative for your community! In 2021, Long Beach will redraw its district boundaries and residents are given the opportunity to be part of the change. On November 6, 2018, voters approved Measure DDD – City of Long Beach Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission. The measure amended the City Charter to create a Commission of Long Beach residents to determine the boundaries of Council Districts every ten years after the national census. The Commission will be comprised of 13 members and 2 alternates, who reasonably reflect the diversity of the City of Long Beach and will act as an independent body.

The application period for the Independent Redistricting Commission will open in April 2020 for all residents interested in representing their community and making a change. Your voice equals your change!
