       There is currently a very popular skate park at 14th Street Park, and this upgrade is part of an overall effort to improve the park in one of Long Beach’s poorest and most needy neighborhoods.

More than 100 residents responded to Councilman Robert Garcia’s call for public comments on the new Long Beach Courthouse project currently being planned by the State Administrative Office of the Courts. The number of letters represents more than five times the number of attendees at the only public meeting held by the State on this project, which occurred last Monday, at which fewer than 20 residents were present.

Renewal Planned for Pacific Avenue
Councilmember Garcia announced Thursday that he is creating a Pacific Avenue Revitalization Plan. Beginning this summer, he will work with city staff and community residents and stakeholders to revitalize the corridor from Broadway to Anaheim Street with facade improvements, tree plantings, and other measures.
