City Council Unanimously Passes Equal Benefits Ordinance

 

 The Equal Benefits Ordinance, first introduced by Councilmember Robert Garcia this summer, moved one step closer Tuesday to becoming law in Long Beach. The City Council unanimously agreed with the recommendations of city staff and the Economic Development and Finance Committee, and directed the City Attorney to draft an Equal Benefits Ordinance and return it to Council for final approval.

100+ Trees to be planted downtown - Volunteers needed!
Join Councilmember Garcia, Councilwoman Suja Lowenthal, the Downtown Long Beach Associates, and the Redevelopment Agency, this Saturday, November 21, to participate in this community tree planting. Volunteer check in will start at 8:30am on the Promenade north of Broadway. Coffee, juice and donuts will be provided.
