Release Date: 2020-11-16

For the tenth consecutive year, the City of Long Beach has been named a Top 10 Digital City in a survey conducted by the Center for Digital Government, a national research and advisory institute focused on information technology policies and best practices in state and local government. Long Beach was recognized for its efforts to use data and advanced analytics to address the COVID-19 pandemic, increase resident engagement through technology and address digital equity initiatives to improve access to technology. The designation was based on the City’s progress building a resilient, cost-effective, fully-integrated and inclusive smart digital city.

“Long Beach is proud to be recognized as a Top 10 Digital City for a remarkable 10 years in a row,” said Mayor Robert Garcia. “The City is leading the way using technology for the public good. We’re focused on closing the digital divide and ensuring that all residents have access to the internet and other important resources, especially as we work to get through this crisis.”
