The Infrastructure Services Bureau (ISB) is a vital part of the city's operations and is responsible for maintaining critical data and communication networks. Comprising three divisions, the ISB offers a range of key services, including telecommunication services such as network management, internet and network services, and phone systems, wireless communication services including radio network and dispatch systems infrastructure management, and operations center services such as data center management, server infrastructure management, and disaster recovery. With a focus on providing reliable and efficient services, the ISB plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the city's operations.

Key Services:

Telecommunications Division Services:

  • Provides communication links to over 130 City facilities
  • Provides phone instruments and network data connections
  • Management of internet and data circuit providers
  • Management of the city’s Wide Area Network, Remote Access connectivity, and Network Security
  • Manages the city-wide access control and camera systems
  • Manages the city-wide Wi-Fi systems
  • Manages the city-wide telephone communication systems
  • Manages over 200 IT closets city-wide
  • Manages the city-wide fiber network

Wireless Communication Services

  • 24x7 Radio Network and Dispatch Systems Infrastructure Management
  • Microwave Network and Communication Tower Infrastructure
  • Management and maintenance of Portable Radios and Mobile Radios
  • Maintenance and repairs of mobile data terminals (in vehicles) and automated vehicle location transponders
  • Maintains communications towers at Signal Hill, Reservoir Hill, and the Emergency Communications Operations Center

Operations Center Services

  • 24/7 Data Center Management, Support, and Network Operations Center Monitoring
  • Management and administration of the City’s Windows and Linux server infrastructure
  • Management and administration of the City’s cloud-hosting infrastructure
  • Management and administration of the City’s Virtual Desktop computing platform
  • Management of the City’s Mainframe.
  • Data storage management and governance, including Server Backup and Disaster Recovery
  • Security Administration for User Access, Computing Infrastructure, and Data Storage.
