She graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a B.A. in Urban Studies in June of 2020. Her interests are in affordable and supportive housing, modular construction, transit-oriented communities with multimodal streetscape, and high-speed rail infrastructure.
Participating in the redistricting commission means engaging in a democratic process that strives for transparency and inclusiveness while recognizing the historical context that shaped Long Beach as it exists today. District maps are one framework for how the city operates, and the decisions we make now will have an effect on the next ten years. It is imperative to create an equitable map that will elevate the livelihoods of the people that live and work in Long Beach. To accomplish this, it is crucial that we receive community input throughout the process. Martinez, along with my fellow Commissioners, welcome your participation!
