Clean Team

Background

The Clean Team is a vital division within the Department of Public Works dedicated to enhancing quality of life in Long Beach through proactive maintenance and public space preservation. Through daily field operations and specialized programs, the team helps keep sidewalks, alleyways, parkways and neighborhoods clean, safe and accessible across the city.

The division also partners directly with residents by responding to service requests submitted through the Go Long Beach platform, addressing issues such as illegal dumping, graffiti, debris removal and other neighborhood concerns. This collaborative approach allows the Clean Team to quickly respond to community needs while encouraging shared responsibility for maintaining clean public spaces.

By working alongside neighborhood associations, community groups and local businesses, the Clean Team supports a cleaner, safer and more vibrant Long Beach. Beyond improving the appearance of public spaces, the team contributes to public health, accessibility, economic vitality and the overall well-being of those who live, work, play and do business in the city.
