Latest Updates - September 2024

The Project team has finalized the designs for the Silverado Park Playground Project and has incorporated community feedback into the final design plans. The City has recently advertised the work for public bid and is currently evaluating General Contractor bids for responsiveness. After this process is completed, the City will make a recommendation to award a contract to the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder. Construction is anticipated to start in early 2025. We want to express our gratitude to everyone who has provided feedback.

  • Increase the useful life of the facility
  • Provide an inviting environment for the community

Project Funding

Former U.S. House Representative Lowenthal generously secured $1.5 million in federally earmarked funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Community Development Fund. In addition, $700,000 Measure A Funds have also been allocated to the project. Together, these two funding sources will go towards a full reconstruction of Silverado Playground, including new play features, benches, picnic tables, and ADA site improvements.
