Mobility Mats Unveiling at Granada Beach

Mayor Robert Garcia, Councilwoman Mary Zendejas, Councilwoman Cindy Allen, Councilwoman Suzie Price, and the Departments of Parks, Recreation and Marine and Public Works invite you to attend the opening ceremony for the new beach access mobility mats.

The ceremony will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Granada Beach located at 5098 E. Ocean Boulevard Long Beach, CA 90803 (Ocean Boulevard and Granada Avenue).

The mats will also be deployed at Mother’s and Alamitos Beaches. These mats are ADA compliant and made of 100 percent recycled material. The non-slip neoprene material is designed for wheeled pedestrian assistance vehicles such as wheelchairs, beach access chairs, walkers, and strollers.

Both the anchoring system and the mats can withstand the weight of utility vehicle traffic.
