Bay Shore Branch Library Renovations

The City’s Contractor, Spectra Company, is scheduled to begin construction in the area beginning the week of August 14, 2023, with a scheduled completion, barring weather or other unforeseen delays, by early Spring 2024.

The improvements will include:

• Phase 1: Energy Efficient Window Upgrades – Removal and replacement of windows, reinstall cabinetry and window coverings.
• Phase 2: Exterior Building Improvements – Replacement of exterior doors, including automatic doors at the main entrances, replacement of exterior lighting with new LED fixtures, repairs to the existing siding and trellis features, repainting the building exterior, and construction of a new ADA ramp at the main entrance from Bay Shore Avenue.

The contractor is scheduled to perform work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Parking impacts for residents is not expected. Efforts will be made to minimize inconveniences and minimize construction activities during scheduled park sports activities. The contractor encourages library patrons to keep children away from the construction areas and activities.
