In observance of Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, the City of Long Beach facilities and services listed below will adhere to the following schedules.

Street Sweeping
There will be no scheduled street sweeping or enforcement of street sweeping violations on Monday, Sept. 7. Street sweeping will resume its regular schedule on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Parking Enforcement
Read your parking signs and meters: Citywide parking violations, including parking meters and pay stations, are enforced on holidays, unless the signs state “Except on Holidays.”

The Public Works Department strives to operate, preserve, and enhance the City's physical infrastructure and transportation systems. The Department provides a variety of community services including the repair, rehabilitation and general upkeep of City streets, public trees, sidewalks, and City structures. We also provide emergency support services throughout the City.
