Following the City Council Closed Session Meeting today, August 20, 2019, Mayor Robert Garcia provided the following statement: 

“The City Council met in Closed Session to discuss the selection of a new Long Beach City Manager. On September 21st, pursuant to the City Charter, the Assistant City Manager shall be designated as the Acting City Manager. The Council has also unanimously decided to conduct a national search.”
