Long Beach, CA – The Long Beach Public Library (LBPL) invites parents and caregivers and their children to a series of Early Learning Fairs, a program for families who are looking to enroll their children in an early learning preschool program. Fairs are divided into four sessions and will begin on Saturday, Jan. 20.
"The Early Learning Fairs are a cornerstone of our community's commitment to educational readiness. These events empower families by offering insights into registration procedures and workshops on key areas like early learning mathematics and social and emotional development,” said Mayor Rex Richardson. “Join us as we culminate these fairs with captivating our dedication to preparing the youngest members of our community for future success."
Families will have an opportunity to receive information about registration procedures directly from learning centers and attend workshops that cover topics such as early learning mathematics and social and emotional learning. Each fair concludes with entertainment from a special performer who will incorporate educational techniques for the entire family to enjoy.
"I'm delighted to announce our Early Learning Fairs—a unique opportunity for families to access resources and workshops, paving the way for a successful educational journey,” said Director of Library Services Cathy De Leon. “Join us in building a community dedicated to nurturing the love for learning in our youngest members."
Families who visit every resource table at each Early Learning Fair, plus attend one of the workshops, will receive a Ready for Kindergarten backpack filled with learning supplies and tools that support early learning, while supplies last. Children should be present to receive their backpacks.
Early Learning Fair sessions are scheduled as follows:
