Long Beach, CA - The Long Beach Public Library showcases different digital resources each month, and this month’s spotlight is on the free access cardholders have to World Book Online through the Digital Library. The eEncyclopedia is more than just an eBook; World Book Online is an interactive learning experience for all ages.

“Our innovative Long Beach Public Library provides critical educational resources, and the growing number of materials in the Digital Library make information more and more accessible to all,” said Mayor Robert Garcia.

World Book Online is easy and fun to use. With separate sections for all age groups, for children through adults, there are games, activities, videos, science projects, news, biographies and so much more to support curiosity and learning for young children through adults.

Here a few highlights of World Book Online:
  • Early Learning designed for the youngest library users, with fun learning games and activities geared towards pre-kindergarten children
  • Resources to support school-age students with writing reports, planning a science project or just satisfying curiosity
  • Middle school student-specific interactive timelines, maps, videos and research guides
  • An Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos section entirely in Spanish
  • Advanced-level news, interactive maps, reference information about current events, timelines and much more for high school students
  • Specific California curriculum-aligned resources for teachers
“We are delighted to offer World Book Online to our community,” said Library Services Director Glenda Williams.  “This encyclopedia takes vetted and reliable information, data and facts and puts them into an engaging online format that makes learning fun for all!”
