Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine to Host Summer Kick-off Concert at Marine Stadium on May 27
Kid’s activities begin at 5 p.m., concert from 6 to 8 p.m.

Long Beach, CA – The City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) is excited to once again welcome the summer season with a free kick-off concert featuring the “ultimate 80’s” tribute band, 80’z All-Stars, on Friday, May 27, at Marine Stadium (5255 Paoli Way on Appian Way between 2nd and Colorado Streets). Concert goers can dance and sing along to the sounds of Duran Duran, Devo, Bon Jovi, Rick Springfield, and other 80’s legends.

“Long Beach has amazing free and low-cost activities for families for at our city parks and beaches all summer long,” said Mayor Robert Garcia. “This event is a great way to kick off a season of fantastic programs and activities for residents of all ages.”

The kick-off concert will begin at 5 p.m. with free kid’s activities such as face painting and moon bounces. The concert will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Concert goers are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and picnic dinners to enjoy on the lawn. Food and beverage will also be available for purchase from several food trucks.

“The Marine Stadium concert will be the perfect opening of summerlong celebration of music out in our parks,” said PRM Director Brent Dennis.
