Long Beach, CA – Registration for a variety of new and existing recreation classes offered by the City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) begins Monday, August 1. More than 700 activities in art, music, nature, fitness, special interest subjects, adult sports leagues and aquatics will begin in September and continue through November. Residents can browse the fall classes in the latest issue of Recreation Connection, PRM’s programs catalog, at LBParks.org or at Long Beach park community centers and Long Beach Public Library branches.
“Our Parks, Recreation and Marine Department works hard to ensure our residents have access to safe, engaging and fun recreation experiences all year long,” said Mayor Robert Garcia. “This fall’s class selection reflects that commitment and I’m excited to encourage all families to check out what we have to offer.”
In addition to fee-based classes, Recreation Connection lists free activities for families including youth sports leagues, teen centers and senior centers, supervised after school recreation programs, and much more.
“Within this issue of the Recreation Connection, residents can find opportunities for leisure classes, educational experiences, encounters with nature, and great health and fitness programs. Our sports programs are back in full gear for participants of all ages and skill levels,” said PRM Director Brent Dennis.
The new class additions for the fall include options for every age range, including:
