Long Beach, CA – The City of Long Beach announced today details for its 2023 Veterans Day Celebration taking place on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Houghton Park (6301 Myrtle Avenue). The Veterans Day Celebration is a free, family-friendly event that honors those who have served and are currently serving in the United States military.
Veterans Recognition Ceremony Honorees
The Veterans Recognition Ceremony, taking place at the main stage at 12:45 p.m., will feature special presentations by Mayor Rex Richardson, Ninth District Councilmember Dr. Joni Ricks-Oddie, Seventh District Councilman Roberto Uranga, the Long Beach Veterans Day Committee and other local elected representatives who will present awards to four individuals and organizations who have shown exemplary dedication to serving the local veterans community. This year’s Veterans Day Celebration also features a veteran's resource fair with over 35 participating organizations, live musical entertainment, flyovers with historic aircrafts (presented by Long Beach City College), a kid zone, food trucks and beer garden, and more. The 2023 Veterans Day Celebration is presented by the City of Long Beach with guidance from the City’s Office of Veterans Support, Long Beach Veterans Commission and Long Beach Veterans Day Committee and participation from various community organizations. The historic aircraft flyover is presented by Long Beach City College.
