Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine

The El Dorado Nature Center Visitor Center, located at 7550 E. Spring Street, will begin routine building fumigation on Monday, March 8, and continue through midday on Wednesday, March 10. The Nature Center, which is normally closed to the public on Mondays, will also be closed to the public on Tuesday, March 9, and until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10. Fumigation treatment of the Visitor Center is necessary to maintain the structure and protect the building from future damage.

The inside of the Visitor Center has been closed to the public to comply with COVID-19 safety precautions. During the March 8 through 10 maintenance closure, El Dorado East Regional Park annual passes, which are normally sold out of the Visitor Center’s exterior side window, will be temporarily sold at the Rangers Station offices located across the street in the Regional Park from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

Due to the proximity of the fumigation to the trail entry points, the trails will also be closed for the duration of the project.

Visitor Center operations and trail reopening will resume at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10. For more information please contact 562.570.1745.
