Long Beach, CA – The City of Long Beach Belmont Shore Parking Commission invites the community to take a survey and share their feedback on potential Belmont Shore gateway signage. Now through July 7, 2023, community members may complete the survey online at: bit.ly/CLBBelmont.

The proposed gateway sign designs have been informed by the community input received by the Belmont Shore Parking Commission. This survey aims to determine the final design direction and the sign will be paid through the Belmont Shore Parking Meter Fund.

The goal is to replace the current wooden signs with fresh, updated signage to reflect the aesthetics of the 1920s lampposts that are still a signature feature throughout the Belmont Shore and Belmont Heights neighborhoods. Each of the four proposals includes a single pole mount, designed to fit into the narrow median at the westbound entrance of Belmont Shore. Each sign would stand approximately 20 feet tall and would feature nighttime illumination.

Community members with limited access to a computer or smart phone can visit any open Long Beach Public Library location to complete the survey at one of the available public computer labs. Survey results will help determine the design direction and will guide the Commission's final design choice. The final design is expected to be selected this summer.
