Long Beach, CA – The City of Long Beach is launching a series of virtual open house events to engage the community as part of the Zone In: City Core (ACZIP) effort, previously known as the Anaheim Corridor Zoning Implementation Plan (ACZIP). The Zone In: City Core (ACZIP) is a collaboration between the City and community to update zoning regulations along the Anaheim Street and Pacific Coast Highway commercial corridors and adjacent neighborhoods.

The Zone In: City Core (ACZIP) effort will reimagine and update zoning and development regulations for the area bounded by Pacific Coast Highway, 10th Street, Magnolia and Ximeno Avenues to support the development of new housing options and a greater mix of uses. The effort aims to create a more complete community where residents, businesses, jobs and retail are safely and conveniently located within close proximity with a pedestrian-friendly and multimodal design.

The community is encouraged to learn more and provide input on the plan by participating in one of three virtual meetings presented by the Long Beach Development Services Department as listed below. Interpretation services will be provided in Spanish and Khmer during the presentations.

  • Saturday, April 2, 2022, 10:30 a.m. to noon
    • RSVP online to receive meeting link and dial-in details
  • Wednesday, April 6, 2022, 6 to 7:30 p.m.

There will be several additional opportunities for the public to get involved and have their voices heard throughout the planning process. Survey participants will be entered into an opportunity drawing to win a $50 gift card. The survey will remain open through April 22, 2022.

Zone In: City Core (ACZIP) is expected to go before the City Council for adoption in spring 2023. For more information about Zone In: City Core (ACZIP), visit longbeach.gov/lbds/aczip.
