The City of Long Beach is proud to release the 2019 Year in Review, a book that offers a snapshot of the City’s accomplishments and accolades for the year. “Under the leadership of the Mayor and City Council, Long Beach continues to experience success on many fronts,” said Acting City Manager Tom Modica. “We have brought new high-tech jobs to our city while also supporting small businesses and working to develop our local workforce.”
The following are just a few of the City’s accomplishments in 2019:
Additionally, the City negotiated a long-term lease and operating agreement between with the Molina, Wu, Network, LLC healthcare group, paving the way for the reopening of Community Hospital and restoration of critical acute care services to the city; implemented Compassion Saves, a sheltering model with the goal of ensuring all healthy and treatable dogs and cats are saved; and implemented many environmental initiatives, including the next phase of City’s Styrofoam ban.
