Long Beach Health Officials re-opened Alamitos Bay today after lab results indicated bacterial levels were within state standards, following a sewage spill on December 18 in Naples, from a force main break. Daily water samples taken from Alamitos Bay swimming sites now confirm that the water is safe for swimming.

In order to protect the safety of the public, water quality monitoring is performed weekly at City beaches and bays by the Health Department’s Recreational Water Quality Program.
