Collision Investigation detectives are investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian that occurred on Dec. 21, 2023.  

At approximately 11:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Willow Street and Easy Avenue regarding an injury traffic collision.When officers arrived on scene, personnel from the Long Beach Fire Department were already on scene and en-route to transport the female adult pedestrian to the hospital. The pedestrian succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.  

The preliminary investigation revealed an unknown vehicle was traveling westbound on Willow Street. As the vehicle crossed the intersection of Fashion Avenue, it struck the pedestrian who was crossing Willow Street outside of a marked crosswalk. The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene. 

The name and age of the pedestrian will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner.
