Collision Investigation Detectives are investigating a traffic collision that occurred in the area of East 7th Street and St. Louis Avenue on Feb. 18, 2026, which resulted in the death of a male of unknown age.

At approximately 10:48 p.m., officers responded to an injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Personnel from the Long Beach Fire Department transported the pedestrian to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2007 Toyota Tundra was traveling eastbound in the number two lane of 7th Street when it collided with a pedestrian who walked in between two parked cars and into the roadway.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

At this time, speed is being investigated as a contributing factor in the collision.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner.
