Collision Investigation detectives are investigating a traffic collision which occurred on March 20, 2024, which resulted in the death of a male adult.
On March 20, 2024, at approximately 5:55 p.m., officers responded to the area of 8th Street and Long Beach Boulevard regarding an injury traffic collision involving a Metro Train, a motorcycle, and another vehicle. The driver of the Honda Civic remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
At this time, speed and impaired driving are being investigated as potential factors in this collision on behalf of the motorcyclist.
The Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner responded, and the deceased driver's identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
