Collision Investigation detectives are investigating a traffic collision which occurred on March 7, 2024, which resulted in the death of a male adult.

On March 7, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of East 70th Street regarding a single vehicle traffic collision.

Upon arrival, officers found a male adult driver unresponsive inside a 2010 Dodge Charger. Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded and performed lifesaving measures, however they determined him deceased at the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a 2010 Dodge Charger may had suffered a medical emergency which resulted in a loss of control and subsequently collided with a wall.

At this time, speed, impaired driving and distracted driving are not considered to be factors in the collision.

The identity of the driver is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner.
