Sex Crimes detectives have arrested a suspect for multiple sexual battery incidents and believe there may be additional victims. 

Through their investigation, Sex Crimes detectives identified the suspect as Meliton Santoyo Jaramillo, a 38-year-old resident of Norwalk, who they believe is responsible for the following incidents:  

  • In August 2023 – Bellflower Boulevard and Wardlow Road – Sexual battery against aelderly female victim 

  • In August 2023 – Bellflower Boulevard and Wardlow Road – Sexual battery against a second elderly female victim 

  • On Feb. 22, 2024 – Bellflower Boulevard and Wardlow Road – Sexual battery against a female adult victim 

Detectives believe that suspect Jaramillo was working as a gardener for the victims in each of the incidents. 

The case was presented to the City Prosecutor’s Office, who issued an arrest warrant. 

On April 8, 2024, detectives from the Special Investigations Detail arrested suspect Jaramillo in the City of La Mirada. He was transported to the Long Beach City Jail where he was booked for three counts of sexual battery. Bail was set at No Bail
