Detectives have made an arrest in connection with residential burglaries that occurred in the East Division area and believe there may be additional victims.
Detectives have been investigating a series of incidents, which they have determined follow similar circumstances and have similar suspect descriptions. In each of the burglaries, the suspect posed as a salesman and/or service worker and knocked on victim’s door. When the victim(s) did not appear to be home, the suspect entered the victim’s home and stole jewelry, collectible coins, heirlooms, jewelry boxes, and money.
Through an extensive investigation, Burglary detectives identified the suspect as David Silver, a 48-year-old resident of Long Beach. On March 29, 2024, Burglary and Drug Investigations Section detectives served a search warrant at the suspect’s residence in the 700 block of Alamitos Ave and arrested suspect Silver at that time. The suspect was then transported to the Long Beach City Jail where he was booked for residential burglary. Bail was set at No Bail.
The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for filing consideration on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
The suspect is believed to be responsible for the below Long Beach incidents as well as incidents occurring in other cities, including Glendale, Los Alamitos, Cerritos, and Torrance.
Detectives believe there may be additional unreported incidents based on the volume of evidence recovered during the search warrant service and encourage any possible victims to contact the Burglary Detail at LBPDBurglary@longbeach.gov or 562.570.7351.
