On July 15, 2022, the LBPD Vice Investigations Section was notified of two home invasion robberies incidents within the city of Long Beach. Both robberies had similar circumstances, in which the victims indicated they met a female subject on a social media dating application and eventually invited the female into their residence. Once the female was invited into the victim’s residence, two or three male suspects would be let in by the female and a home invasion robbery would take place. The suspects would enter the victim’s residence with firearms and steal items from within the victim’s residence.
Due to the involvement of dating applications, the Vice Investigations Section collaborated with other Special Investigation Division detectives to further the on the investigation. On July 15, 2022, the female involved in the robberies was identified and detained in the city of Los Angeles. The female subject reported she was raped and sexually assaulted by two suspects and forced to go on commercial sex dates. In addition, these suspects had the female participate in the home invasion robberies.
Detectives continued their investigation, served several search warrants and identified three male suspects involved in the home invasion robberies. Detectives presented the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and obtained arrest warrants in the amount of $1,000,000 for all three suspects.
The LBPD Vice Investigations Section, LBPD Criminal Career Apprehension Team, Las Vegas Metro Police Department, and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau collaborated on arrest plans and search warrants for the three male suspects.
On Sept. 7-8, 2022, all three male suspects were arrested and are currently being held on a $1,000,000 bail:
