On Friday, December 12, 2014, the Long Beach Police Department's Vice Investigations Section, in cooperation with investigators from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), conducted an undercover operation throughout the City of Long Beach.
The "Minor Decoy" operation targeted employees of ABC licensed establishments, specifically restaurants with bars, who sold alcohol to minors. Minors under the age of 21, under the supervision of the L.B.P.D., attempted to purchase alcohol from restaurant employees.
During the course of the “Minor Decoy” operation, 10 establishments were visited, resulting in one (1) citation being issued to an employee for selling alcohol to a minor. The citation was issued at a restaurant in the 6500 block of E. Pacific Coast Highway.
The Long Beach Police Department was pleased to see the majority of establishments in compliance with ABC laws. The L.B.P.D. will continue to enforce ABC laws at all establishments throughout the city.
