On October 23, 2018, at approx. 10:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the alley in 1300 Block of Wesley Drive, regarding a man down call, which resulted in the death of a male adult.

When officers arrived, they located a male adult who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds over his body. Long Beach Fire Department paramedics responded and determined the victim deceased at the scene.

The victim is only being identified as a 34-year-old resident of Long Beach, pending notification of next of kin, which will be handled by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

No suspect information available, and it is unknown if the incident is gang-related. A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
