UPDATE 3/10/19:

On Saturday, March 9, 2019, Homicide Detectives arrested 21-year-old Nyla Hall of Los Angeles in connection with the shooting death of Imani Keith. Detectives believe she had knowledge of the murder and assisted Rodney Scott with the intent he might avoid prosecution. Through their investigation detectives also discovered Hall was part of the 2018 residential burglary in Los Angeles. Hall was booked for accessory after the fact and residential burglary and is being held on $1,000,000 bail.

UPDATE 3/9/19:

On Thursday, March 7, 2019, the Long Beach Police Department arranged for the custody transport of Rodney Scott, a 22-year-old resident of Los Angeles, from the California Correction Center in Susanville, CA, to the Long Beach City Jail.

Homicide Detectives believe Rodney Scott is responsible for a 2018 residential burglary in Los Angeles, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and the shooting death of Imani Keith. He is currently being held on $2,000,000 bail.

On Friday, March 8, 2019, homicide detectives made additional arrests related to the shooting death of Keith. The suspects arrested in the City of Los Angeles are listed below.

  • Richard Scott, a 21-year-old resident of Los Angeles, was booked for accessory after the fact and is being held on $1,000,000 bail.
  • Christina Collier, a 23-year-old resident of Los Angeles, was booked for accessory after the fact and is being held on $1,000,000 bail.
  • Dana Moore, a 49-year-old resident of Los Angeles, was booked for accessory after the fact, and ex-felon in possession of a firearm. She is being held on $1,000,000 bail.
  • David Thomas, a 24-year-old resident of Los Angeles, was booked for residential burglary and is being held on $50,000 bail. Detectives believe Thomas is also responsible for the same 2018 residential burglary in Los Angeles, Rodney Scott was also a part of.

Detectives believe Richard Scott, Dana Moore, and Christina Collier had knowledge of the murder and assisted Rodney Scott with the intent he might avoid prosecution.

Search warrants were served in several residences in the City of Los Angeles, where five firearms were recovered, along with additional evidence. All evidence recovered will be processed and examined by the Long Beach Police Department’s Forensic Science Services Division.

Detectives believe Rodney Scott, David Thomas, and victim Keith were known to each other, and the shooting was the result of a dispute between them. This evidence was revealed over the course of a lengthy investigation using multiple investigative resources.

The case is expected to be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office later in the week for filing consideration. The investigation remains ongoing.
