On July 19, 2022, at approximately 8:26 p.m., officers responded to the area of the Los Angeles River and Pacific Coast Highway regarding a shooting that resulted in the death of a male adult. 

Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the lower body. Officers rendered aid to the victim, until the arrival of Long Beach Fire Department. Fire Department personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene to investigate the incident. At this time, detectives are still working to determine the motive and circumstances of the incident. No suspect information is known. 

The Department of the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner will work to identify the victim and notify the next of kin.
