Original News Release 6/25/21:
On June 25, 2021 at approximately 3:04 a.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting victim at the intersection of 9th Street and Daisy Avenue, which resulted in the death of a male adult.

Upon arrival, officers located the male adult victim on the sidewalk near the intersection, suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper and lower torso. Officers performed life-saving measures until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived and determined the victim deceased at the scene.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation by Homicide detectives. There is currently no suspect information.

The victim has been identified as a 31 year-old male experiencing homelessness in Long Beach. His identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
