Update 8/05/19:
On August 4, 2019, at approximately 3:15 p.m., detectives located and arrested a second suspect in connection to the murder of Jerrimiyah Davis.
Detectives believe 56-year-old Darral Frank of San Pedro was aware of the shooting, and attempted to protect Paul Booth from arrest, trial, or conviction by concealing evidence related to the shooting. The rifle detectives believe was used in the murder was located concealed in a public place near where Frank was taken into custody.
Frank was booked for accessory after the fact and is being held on $1,000,000 bail at the Long Beach City Jail.

On Friday, August 2, 2019, at approximately 9:45 p.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 900 block of Via Wanda, which resulted in the death of a male adult.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim with gunshot wounds to his upper and lower torso. Officers immediately began performing life-saving measures. The Long Beach Fire Department arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Through their preliminary investigation, Homicide Detectives believe the suspect confronted the victim in a common area of the housing complex. The confrontation resulted in the shooting. Witnesses described the suspect as a local resident who was last seen fleeing the area in a wheelchair. The victim and the suspect were known to each other.
On the following day, August 3rd, detectives located and arrested the suspect in the 5200 block of Orange Avenue. 58-year-old Paul Booth of Long Beach has been booked for murder and ex-felon in possession of live ammunition. Booth is being held on $2,000,000 bail at the Long Beach City Jail.
The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Jerrimiyah Davis of Long Beach.
The case is expected to be presented to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office early next week for filing consideration.
