On Oct. 31, 2022, at approximately 7:50 a.m., officers responded to the 700 block of East Wardlow Road regarding a woman bleeding next to a vehicle, which resulted in the death a female adult.
Upon arrival, officers located a female adult victim suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and rendered medical aid to the victim before determining the victim deceased at the scene.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene to investigate the incident. Through their investigation, detectives determined the victim was involved in a dating relationship with the suspect. The victim and the suspect were recently experiencing problems in their relationship. The victim arrived to work earlier this morning, when she was confronted by the suspect inside her parked vehicle.
The suspect and the victim were inside of the victim’s vehicle when the suspect shot the victim, ultimately resulting in the victim’s death. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle and drove to the City of Paramount where he later turned himself in to local Los Angeles County Sheriff deputies.
The victim has been identified as Adriana Silva, a 36-year-old, resident of the City of Paramount.
The victim’s vehicle and the vehicle the suspect was driving at the time of the incident were impounded and will be processed for evidence.
The investigation to determine the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
The suspect has been identified as Jose Luis Vidal, a 47-year-old, resident of the City of Paramount. The suspect was booked for one count of murder and bail was set at $2,000,000.
Detectives will present the case to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office later this week for filing consideration.
