On May 7, 2019, at approximately 7:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 600 block of East 10th Street regarding an unknown trouble call, which was determined to be the murder of a female adult.
Upon arrival, officers located a female adult victim with what appeared to be blunt force trauma to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department responded and determined the victim deceased at the scene.
The preliminary investigation indicated the victim was physically assaulted by her cohabitant boyfriend, who remained at the scene and was taken into custody by responding officers.
The victim has been identified as Sena Khim, a 37-year-old resident of Long Beach. The suspect, who has been identified as 59-year-old Soeun Sam of Long Beach, was booked for murder and is currently being held at the Long Beach City Jail on $2,000,000 bail.
A motive for the assault is unknown and the investigation remains ongoing.
