On Monday, August 6, 2018, at approximately 10:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to a shots fired call in the 3200 block of Andy Street, which resulted in the death of a male adult. 

When officers arrived, they located a male adult who had been struck in the upper torso by gunfire.

Officers began performing life saving measures at the scene. Subsequently, the Long Beach Fire Department responded and determined the victim deceased.

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old, Jioni Kyles of Long Beach.

The motive for the shooting is unknown and the investigation is ongoing.

At this time, no witnesses have come forward with information and detectives are encouraging anyone with any details to please come forward.
