On May 23, 2021 at approximately 8:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Williams Street regarding a stabbing between roommates, which resulted in the death of a male adult.

The first arriving officers located the victim suffering from wounds to his upper torso. Officers rendered medical aid until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived and determined the victim to be deceased at the scene.

Based on the preliminary investigation, the victim and his male adult roommate were both inside of their residence when a dispute ensued and escalated to a stabbing. At this time, the victim is only being identified as a male adult in his 60’s pending notification to next of kin.

The suspect has been identified as Eric Doore, a 51 year-old resident of Long Beach. He was taken into custody and booked on one count of murder. He remains in custody at the Long Beach City Jail where he is being held on $2,000,000 bail.

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue to gather evidence. They anticipate presenting the facts of the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office later this week for filing consideration.

Anyone with any information regarding the incident is urged to contact LBPD Homicide Detectives Michael Hubbard, Ethan Shear, or Jose Rodriguez at (562) 570-7244.
