On September 19, 2016, at approximately 02:10 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of E. 3rd Street to assist fire with a stabbing victim at the location.

Upon arrival officers found an adult male suffering from a stab wound to his upper torso. The victim was transported by Long Beach Fire Department to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

Investigation found that two roommates got in an altercation and one was stabbed. The suspect remained at the scene and was subsequently arrested for murder. The suspect has been identified as 52 year-old resident of Long Beach William Wilson. He was booked into the Long Beach Jail and is being held on $2,000,000.00

Victim is a 72 year-old resident of Long Beach. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office will positively identify the victim and notify next of kin.
