Homicide detectives are seeking the public’s help in solving the 2018 murder of Frederick Taft, who was 57 years old when he was killed.
On July 21, 2018, at approximately 4:26 p.m., Fred Taft was in a restroom at Pan American Park when he was shot and killed by a male suspect. After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene.
At the time of the incident, detectives believed the suspect fled on foot and was a white male adult in his 50s. However, detectives have recently identified a new lead which suggests the suspect used a blue minivan to flee the scene. This new lead also revealed the suspect is a male Hispanic in his 20s.
The motive for this shooting remains under investigation.
In the five years since the murder of Fred Taft, Homicide detectives have tirelessly worked to follow all leads and identify new evidence. However, detectives need the public’s help in solving this crime.
