Officers arrest a male juvenile suspect and recover firearms related to recent shootings in West Long Beach.

On April 5 and 6, 2024, the following three shootings occurred in West Long Beach:

  • 4/5/2024 11:27 p.m. - No Hit Shooting - 1500 block of West 20th Street

  • 4/6/2024 1:41 a.m. - Hit Shooting - 2400 block of Baltic Avenue

Following the third shooting in the 2400 block of Baltic Avenue, responding officers detained a juvenile subject near the scene. Detectives responded and identified the juvenile as the same suspect wanted for a no hit shooting that occurred on Feb. 27, 2024, in the 2300 block of Baltic Avenue.

This morning, the LBPD SWAT Team served two search warrants in the 2400 block of Baltic Avenue and 2500 Adriatic Avenue.

During the search, detectives recovered firearms that were believed to have been used in the recent shootings. The suspect is believed to be responsible for all four shootings and remains in custody. Detectives will present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
