The suspect and child were located by detectives in the City of Long Beach. The child was unharmed. The suspect has been arrested and the child was reunited with his mother. The investigation is ongoing.

The Long Beach Police Department is asking for the public's help locating a 4-year-old boy, Zayne Rhodes, who was abducted by his father, suspect Stephen Rhodes.

On Dec. 30, 2022 at approximately 11:39 p.m., missing child Zayne was at home with his mother in the 5700 block of Orange Avenue. His father (suspect Stephen Rhodes) forced entry into the home through a window, assaulted the mother, and abducted Zayne.

The suspect took the mother’s vehicle with the child and their destination is unknown. The vehicle is a black 2018 Chevrolet Impala, CA Plate 8KDW830.

The child is listed as a protected person in a criminal restraining order against the suspect.

Height: 3' 5”
Weight: 50 lbs
Hair: Black
Eyes: Brown
Clothing: black and gray zip-up hooded sweatshirt, unknown color pants

Suspect Stephen Marcell Rhodes is described as follows:
Age: 34-years-old
Gender: Male
Race: Black
Height: 6’ 00”
Weight: 190 lbs
Hair: Black/Bald
Eyes: Brown
Clothing: Unknown

The vehicle is described as follows:
Black 2018 Chevrolet Impala
CA License Plate: 8KDW830
